Children from the Andap Day Care Center were recipients of a feeding and gift-giving activity held by Children’s Joy Foundation Inc. Japan last August 28 in Andap, New Bataan, Compostela Valley in the southern part of the Philippines. The Andap Day Care Center is among the early childhood education facilities funded by the organization.
The feeding activity was graciously sponsored by businessman Yosuke Takada, one of CJF Japan’s avid donors, who deeply felt the need to extend his help towards CJF’s children beneficiaries.
A study released by the Inter-Agency Regional Analyst Network (RAN) and Action Against Hunger (ACF) showed that poor nutrition remains an alarming problem in the country with 1 out of 3 Filipino children still malnoursished.
CJFI Japan hopes to help alleviate this problem by holding regular feeding programs in different Day Care Centers in the country.
The Andap Day Care Center, a Day Care Center funded by CJFI Japan, was turned over to the community last July 21. It was the first-ever community facility built within the village after Typhoon Pablo struck the region and caused a massive devastation in 2012. Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) officer Beverly Jane B. Dela Pena thanked CJFI Japan for providing the Andap Day Care Center and for their special treat for the children.
